शंकर

शंकर पढ़ने के लिये पाटी ( लकड़ी की बनी स्लेट ) ओर कमेट की शीशी लेकर जाया करता था , ओर जब बारिश होती तो जूट के कट्टे की घोघी बनाकर उसे ओढ़ कर स्कूल जाता था ,इस तरह से पढ़ाई हुईं ठहरी शंकर की,घर की स्तिथि ठीक नही थी, बस किसी तरह दिन बीत रहे थे।

शंकर के बौज्यू ( पिता ) शंकर को कहते थे, मन लगा बेर पढ़ाई करिए, भली के पढ़ ले ले तो, भोव भैली के खाले।

शंकर हाँ में सिर हिला कर सहमति देता हुआ, स्कूल को निकल लेता, उसने शायद ही कभी स्कूल की छुट्टी की हो, रोजाना सुबह उठ कर नहाता ओर एक रोटी खा कर स्कूल को निकल पड़ता।

शंकर को रोज स्कूल में मौजूद देख कर तेज सिंह मास साब ( मास्टर साहब ) स्कूल के अन्य बच्चों को कहते भी थे , ये कें देखो ,रोज स्कूल ओं,एक लै छुट्टी न करण, एक तुम छा छुट्टी करते फिर छा, शंकर जस बनो, देखिया तुम लोग, यो शंकर एक दिन ठुल आदिम ( आदमी ) बनोल।

तेज सिंह मास साब ( मास्टर साहब ) खुद गरीबी से उठ कर इस मुकाम तक पहुँचे थे, इसके चलते उनकी शंकर के प्रति विशेष सहानुभूति भी रहती थी, वो जितना बन पड़ता उतना सहयोग करते थे शंकर का।

शंकर की मेहनत ओर तेज सिंह मास साहब ( मास्टर साहब ) के सहयोग के चलते शंकर पूरे स्कूल में अव्वल आता था, पर प्राइमरी के बाद जब वो आगे की पढ़ाई करने जायेगा तो क्या होगा ,क्योकिं बड़ा स्कूल उसके गाँव में नही था, जहाँ था वहाँ से रोज आना जाना मुश्किल था, ये चिंता शंकर के बौज्यू ( पिता ) ओर तेज सिंह मास साब ( मास्टर साहब ) को चिंतित करती थी, क्योकिं ये दोनों शंकर को आगे की पढ़ाई हर हाल में करवाना चाहते थे।

इधर शंकर के घर के हालात ये थे की, वो शंकर को पढ़ाने के लिये आर्थिक स्तर पर सहयोग चाह कर भी नही कर सकते थे, जबकि अगर शंकर आगे पढ़ने जाता तो उसे वहाँ कमरा लेना पड़ता, खाने पीने का खर्चा अलग से होता ओर कॉपी किताबों का व्यय अलग था, शंकर के बौज्यू ( पिता ) दिन रात इसी उधेड़बुन में उलझे रहते की, कैसे भी इतना जुगाड़ हो जाये की, शंकर की पढ़ाई का खर्चा निकल आये, इसके चलते उन्होने लकड़ी चिरान का काम करना भी शुरू कर दिया, ताकि अगले साल जब आगे की पढ़ाई के लिये बाहर जाये तो, उसे किसी प्रकार की दिक्कत ना हो।

इधर तेज सिंह मास साब भी किसी भी प्रकार की अड़चन शंकर की पढ़ाई में नही आने देना चाहते थे, इसी के चलते वो शंकर के बौज्यू को बोले देख खीम्मी पैसों खातिर शंकरेक पढ़ाई जण छुड़ाए, मेर ओर बैठि जतुक मदद है सकेली मैं करून, शंकर होशियार छ ओर उ मै पढ़नेक लगन ले छ, क्याई न क्याई बनौल।

इस तरह शंकर की शिक्षा ,शंकर के बौज्यू ओर तेज सिंह माससाब के बल पर सुचारू रूप से चलती रही ओर उसने इन्टर अच्छे नंबरों से पास कर डाला।

शंकर को अब आगे उच्च शिक्षा के लिये उसे गाँव छोड़ कर बाहर जाना था,यानी खर्चा पानी ज्यादा होना था, क्वाटर लेकर रहना, खाना पीना जैसे खर्चे बढ़ने थे, ओर शंकर के लिये ये बडी समस्या थी, इन्टर तक तो जैसे तैसे खींच गया था,इसलिए शंकर ने तय किया की , पढ़ाई छोड़ कोई नौकरी ढूँढ लेता हूँ, इससे घर की आर्थिक स्तिथि में भी सुधार हो जायेगा, ओर बौज्यू ने जो कर्जे पानी ले रखे हैं वो भी चुक जायेंगे।

जब ये बात तेज सिंह माससाब तक पहुँची तो वो शंकर के घर आये ओर शंकर को समझाया की पढ़ाई मत छोड़ 3 - 4 साल की बात है, अच्छी पढ़ाई कर लेगा तो भविष्य सुधर जायेगा ,अभी नौकरी के चक्कर में पड़ जायेगा तो, जो पढ़ा है वो भी बेकार हो जायेगी ओर कुछ खास हाथ भी नही लगेगा, इसलिए आगे की पढ़ाई के लिये अल्मोड़ा जा, राशन पानी घर से ले जाना ओर रहने के लिये मैं दद्दा से बात कर लेता हूँ, उनका बड़ा सारा मकान है वहाँ, एक कमरा मिल ही जायेगा रहने के लिये, इस तरह तेज सिंह माससाब ने ,फिर एक बार, शंकर की पढ़ाई फिर से करवाने में मदद की।

शंकर अल्मोड़ा चला गया खूब मेहनत  की ओर अपनी पढ़ाई पूरी कर ली, इसके बाद वो अल्मोड़ा में ही रहकर सरकारी नौकरी की तैयारी में जुट गया, खर्चे के लिये वो कुछ बच्चों को ट्युशन भी पढ़ाने लग गया।

आखिरकार दिन रात अपने सपने को पूरा करने में जुटे शंकर की मेहनत रंग लाई, ओर वो शिक्षा विभाग में बाबू के पद पर नौकरी पा गया।

शंकर के बौज्यू ओर तेज सिंह मास साब ये सब देख बेहद खुश थे, खासकर तेज सिंह माससाब ,जब शंकर घर आया तो वो भी सबसे पहले अगर कहीं गया तो ,वो था तेज सिंह माससाब का घर, ये जगह शंकर के लिये ,किसी मंदिर से कम नही थी ओर तेज सिंह माससाब भगवान से कम नही, वो कभी नही भूल सकता था की, जहाँ वो आज पहुँचा , वो तेज सिंह माससाब के निस्वार्थ त्याग की के कारण, नही तो कौन इतना करता है आज के जमाने में।

तेज सिंह माससाब ने उसे आशीर्वाद देते हुये कहा ,खूब तरक्की करिये, जल्दी ठुल अफसर बन जाये ,साथ ही ये भी कहा, अगर कोई तेर जस जरूरतमंद देखले तो, उक सहायता जरूर करिये,ताकि उक जीवन ले सुधर जाओ।

शंकर आज अपने विभाग में बड़ा अधिकारी बन चुका है ओर तेज सिंह माससाब की सलाह पर अमल करता हुआ, जरूरतमंद की मदद करता है, इसके लिये वो हर साल गर्मियों में गाँव जाकर ,एक कार्यक्रम का आयोजन करता है, जिसमें सारा गाँव सम्मिलित होता है।

शंकर ने इस आयोजन को मेरा गाँव मेरा तीर्थ नाम देकर, इस गाँव के प्रवासी नागरिकों को जोडा़ है, जो अब उसकी इस मुहिम में जुड़कर ना केवल इस आयोजन में शामिल होते हैं,बल्कि गाँव के जरूरतमंद लोगों की मदद भी करते हैं।

Shankar

 Shankar used to carry wooden slate and chalk made of stone to study, and when it rained, he used to wear a jute sack of raincoat and go to school.  Yes, just somehow the days were passing.

 Shankar's boss used to tell his father Shankar, "Study diligently, if you study well, tomorrow will be fine."

 Shankar nodded yes, agreeing, would leave the school, he rarely took school leave, would wake up every morning to take a bath and go out to school after eating a roti.

 Seeing Shankar present in school every day, Tej Singh teacher used to say to the other children of the school, look at Shankar, he comes to school every day, not a single holiday, you are one, you keep on taking leave, be like Shankar, see you  People, this Shankar will one day become a big man.

 Tej Singh teacher himself had risen from poverty to this point, due to this he also had special sympathy for Shankar, he used to cooperate with Shankar as much as he could.

 Due to the hard work of Shankar and the support of Tej Singh teacher, Shankar used to come first in the whole school, but what will happen after primary when he goes to study further, because the big school was not in his village, from where it was every day.  It was difficult to come and go, this worry used to worry Shankar's father and Tej Singh teacher, because both of them wanted Shankar to get further studies done at any cost.

 Here the situation in Shankar's house was such that he could not even help at the financial level to teach Shankar, whereas if Shankar went to study further, he would have to take a room there, the cost of food and drink would be separate and copy.  The cost of books was different, Shankar's father used to be entangled in this mess day and night, how could he get so much that, the expenses of Shankar's studies could be met, due to this he also started doing wood chipping work, so that next year  When he goes out for further studies, he should not face any kind of problem.

 Here Tej Singh teacher also did not want to let any kind of hindrance come in Shankar's studies, because of this he said to Shankar's father, don't leave Shankar's studies for the sake of money, I will do as much help as I can.  Shankar is smart and he has the passion to study, it will become something or the other.

 In this way, Shankar's education continued smoothly due to Shankar's father and Tej Singh teacher and he passed the Inter with good marks.

 Shankar now had to leave the village for further higher education, that is, the expenses had to be high, living expenses like living room, food had to increase, and this was a big problem for Shankar, it was dragged till the middle somehow,  That's why Shankar decided that after leaving studies, I find a job, this will also improve the financial condition of the house, and the debts that my father has taken will also be repaid.

 When this matter reached Tej Singh teacher, he came to Shankar's house and explained to Shankar that it is a matter of 3-4 years not to leave studies, if he studies well, then the future will improve, now he will fall in the trap of job.  I have read that too it will be useless, and nothing much will be done, so go to Almora for further studies, take ration from home and I talk to my elder brother to live, he has a big house there.  , Will get a room to stay, in this way Tej Singh teacher, once again, helped Shankar to get his studies done.

 Shankar went to Almora and completed his studies with a lot of hard work, after that he started preparing for government job by staying in Almora, he also started teaching tuition to some children for the expenses.

 Eventually, Shankar's hard work, working day and night to fulfill his dream, paid off, and he got a job in the education department at the post of clerk.

 Shankar's father and Tej Singh teacher were very happy to see all this, especially Tej Singh teacher, when Shankar came home, if he went anywhere first, that was Tej Singh teacher's house, this place for Shankar,  Was no less than a temple, and Tej Singh teacher is no less than God, he could never forget that, where he reached today, it is because of the selfless sacrifice of Tej Singh teacher, who does so much today in this age.

 Giving his blessings, Tej Singh teacher said, make a lot of progress, become a big officer soon, and also said, if someone sees a needy like you, then definitely help him, so that his life can also improve.

 Today Shankar has become a big officer in his department and following the advice of Tej Singh teacher, he helps the needy, for this he goes to the village every summer and organizes a program, in which the whole village is involved.
