हौलदार बूबू

गाँव के इन बुजुर्ग को सब हौलदार बूबू के नाम से पुकारते थे, हम भी उन्हें इसी नाम से संबोधित करते थे, पर जेहन में ये सवाल उठता था की, इन्हे ही हौलदार नाम से क्यों संबोधित किया जाता होगा, जबकि गाँव में तो कई रिटायर हवलदार ओर भी थे।

जब जिज्ञासा ज्यादा बढ़ी तो, एक दिन बूबू से ये सवाल कर लिया के बूबू आपको हौलदार बूबू जैसा नाम क्यों दे दिया ठहरा, इस बात पर बूबू ने पहले ठहाका लगाया ओर फिर बोले पोथिया ठहरा तो मैं सुबदार बल, पर तब गाँव वालों के लिये हौलदार ही बड़ा पद ठहरा तो हौलदार ही नाम कर दिया।

बूबू बोले इलाके का पहला हौलदार बना था, तब फौज में कम ही लोग जाते थे, खेती जो करते थे, मैं थोडा़ उज्जड टाइप का था, तो बौज्यू ने सुधरने के लिये भर्ती करवा दिया था।

दिन भर इधर उधर घूमने वाला हुआ, गाड ( नदी ) गया तो माछ ( मच्छी ) पकड़ लाया, जंगल गया तो कभी तैड (एक तरह का कंद मूल ) खोद लाया तो कभी बन ( जंगली ) मुर्गी पकड़ लाता ,खूब खाता पीता ओर मस्त रहता, सेहत भी अच्छी ठहरी ओर ताकत भी, इसलिए आराम से भर्ती भी हो गया।

आगे की कहानी बताते हुये बूबू बोले भर्ती होने के बाद पता लगा की नौकरी कैसी होती है, वहाँ बल्द ( बैल ) की तरह जोत दिया गया, शुरू शुरू में तो डाड (रोना) भी आ जाने वाली हुई, पर बाद में आदत हो गई इन सबकी।

आगे बताते हुये बूबू बोले 1965 का युद्ध भी लड़ा, तब सिपाही ही था ओर 1971 में भी लड़ा, रिटायरमेंट के टाइम तक सुबदार बन गया था, रिटायर हुआ तो गाँव आ गया, मेरे साथ के तो कोई हल्द्वानी बस गये ,कोई खटीमा तो कोई टनकपुर, पर मुझे तो पहाड़ प्रिय ठहरा तो भाबर ( मैदानी क्षेत्र ) की गरम हवा क्यों खानी, इसलिए सीधा पहाड़ को बाट ( रास्ता ) लगा ओर तब से यही हूँ, पेँशन आती है तो किसी के आगे हाथ नही फैलाना पड़ता है, उल्टे मैं मदद कर देता हूँ लोगों की, बड़ा बेटा मास्टर है ओर छोटा पटवारी, सही हो रखा है।

बूबू आगे बताते हैं की, गाँव का दो बार प्रधान भी रहा ओर कुछ सालों पहले तक फौज में भर्ती के लिये लौंडों मोडों ( लड़कों ) को भर्ती होने की ट्रेनिग भी देता था, तभी तो इस गाँव के सबसे ज्यादा लोग फौज में हैं, मेरे सिखाए कई लोग तो रिटायर हो गये हैं , इतना पुराना गुरु ठहरा बल मैं।

आगे किस्सा सुनाते हुये बूबू बोले हमारे पहाड़ के म्यास ( लोग ) बहुत मजबूत ओर मेहनती होते हैं, शुद्ध खाने पीने ओर ऊकाव हुलार चढ़ने उतरने वाले जो ठहरे ,पर अब यहाँ जबसे शराब चली, कंडम करके रख दिया यहाँ के म्यासों ( लोगों ) को, खाते हैं नही ओर खाली हड़का लेते हैं शराब ओर घुरिये ( गिरे ) रहते हैं इधर उधर, माहौल खराब बना दिया पहाड़ का।

कोई अच्छा बुरा काम हो , शराब पीने को चाहिये पहले, बडी शान सी समझते हैं, जैसे कोई बहुत बडी चीज हो, इस शराब पर गाने भी बन गये, चाहा को होटला रमे को बोतला जस ( जैसे ) , नान नान नानतीनों ( छोटे छोटे बच्चों ) को भी इसकी आदत लग गई बल, लम्बी साँस लेते हुये बूबू बोले, शराब से उजड़ रहा है पहाड़, सड़क ,पानी, स्कूल जैसी सुविधाएं भले ही आज भी ना पहुँच सकी, पर शराब जरूर पहुँच गई।

बूबू बोलते जा रहे थे आज के उत्तराखण्ड का हाल, आगे बूबू ने बताया, ये शराब केवल नशा नही देती, बल्कि घर भी उजाड़ देती है, आज इसकी गिरफ्त में आकर यहाँ के लौंडे मौडे ( युवा ) किसी काम के नही रहे, फौज के काबिल तो बिल्कुल नही, जबकि य़े शराब ना होती तो यहाँ के लौंडों ( युवाओं ) की बात ही कुछ ओर होती।

बूबू बोले लोग मैंके कोणी कैंटीन बठी शराब ली बेर आओ ( कैंटीन से शराब लेकर आया करो ) , हम खरीद ल्योन (हम खरीद लेंगे ) पर मैं आज तक एक बोतल ले न लाई ( लाया ) ,आग लगाओ यस पैंस कें हो ( आग लगे ऐसे पैसें को, जो कैके घर उजाड़ दियो ( जो किसी का घर उजाड़ दे )।

बूबू वर्तमान हालात से काफी चिंतित थे, आज की पीढ़ी को ठोकरें खाते देख शायद आहत भी थे, जब तक बूबू के शरीर ने साथ दिया, तब तक उन्होनें गाँव के कई लोगों को ट्रेनिग दे कर फौज में भर्ती करवाने में मदद की, जबकि अब युवा पीढ़ी नशे की ओर आकर्षित होने की वजह से, शहरों में जाकर छोटी मोटी नौकरी करने को मजबूर है, इससे ना तो वो खुद ढँग से जीवन व्यापन कर पा रहै हैं ,ओर ना ही गाँव में रह रहे बुजुर्ग माँ बाप की ढँग से देखभाल कर पा रहे हैं।

काश हौलदार बूबू की सोच का अनुशरण आज की युवा पीढ़ी करती तो, अच्छा जीवन व्यापन कर रही होती।

Head constable boobu

Everyone used to call these elders of the village by the name of Head constables Boobu, we also used to address him by this name, but the question arose in our mind, why would he have been addressed by the name ,Head constables while in the village there are many retirees.  The constables were also there.

 When the curiosity increased, one day he asked Boobu why did he give you the name Head constables Boobu, on this point, Boobu first laughed and then said, although I am a subadar, but then the Head constables is a big position for the villagers.  If it was, then only  Head constables was named.

 Bubu Bole became the first head constable of the area, then very few people used to go to the army, who used to do farming, I was a bit bully type, used to do a lot of bullying, so my father got the army recruited to improve.

 Wandered here and there throughout the day, went to the river and caught the fish, went to the forest and sometimes dug up the tad (a kind of tuber root) and sometimes caught the wild chicken, ate a lot, drank and used to be cool, health was also good and strength was also  , so he was easily recruited in the army.

 Telling the further story, Boobu said after being recruited, he came to know how the job is, there he was plowed like a bull, in the beginning he used to cry, but later it all became a habit.

 Explaining further, Boobu said that he also fought the 1965 war, then he was a soldier and fought in 1971 also, by the time of retirement, he had become a subdar, after retirement, he came to the village, with me some people settled in Haldwani, some Khatima and some others.  Tanakpur, but I loved the mountain, so why should I eat the hot air of the plains, that's why I took the path straight to the mountain and since then I am here, if I get pension, I don't have to stretch my hands in front of anyone, on the contrary I help people.  The elder son is the master and the younger Patwari is doing right.

 Boobu further explains that, he was also the head of the village twice and till a few years ago he used to train the boys for the army, that's why most of the people of this village are in the army, many of the people I taught have retired,  I am such an old guru.

 Telling the story further, Boobu said that the people of our mountain are very strong and hardworking, they drink pure food and climb the mountains, but now since the alcohol started here, they kept the people here, they do not eat and drink empty  There are alcohol and then they keep falling here and there, the atmosphere of the mountain has been spoiled.

 Whether there is any good or bad deed, one should drink alcohol first, think with great pride, as if there is a big thing, songs have also been made on this wine, like chaha ko hotela rame ko bottle), small children also get used to it  He has gone, taking a long breath, Boobu said, even though facilities like mountains, roads, water, schools could not reach even today, alcohol has definitely reached.

 Boobu was talking about the condition of today's Uttarakhand, further Boobu said, this alcohol not only gives intoxication, but also destroys the house, today the youth of this place are of no use after coming under its grip, they are not capable of army at all.  If it was not for this liquor, then the matter of the youth here would have been different.

 Boobu said, people tell me, bring liquor from the canteen, we will buy it, but till date I have not even brought a bottle, such money on fire, which destroys someone's house.

 Boobu was very worried about the current situation, perhaps even hurt to see today's generation stumbling, as long as Boobu's body supported, he helped many people of the village by training and getting them recruited in the army, while now young  Due to the generation being attracted towards drugs, they are forced to go to the cities and do small jobs, due to which they are neither able to earn their living by themselves, nor are they able to take care of the elderly parents living in the village.  are getting.

 I wish the young generation of today would have followed the thinking of Havldar Boobu, they would have been leading a good life.
